Byrd has been arrested and will likely sit against MSU on Sunday. Game preview of Sunday's Purdue game on Sunday morning as well as many other places I'm sure.
Senior Night/Weekend at Munn this weekend
It's senior weekend at Munn this weekend and the icers complete their four year journey through some pretty rough hockey. Neil Koepke writes that they are putting a happy ending on these four years.
The Munn Minute has a series preview on the Alaska-Fairbanks Nanooks over on their site. The Munn Minute is doing a really nice job. If you want to follow hockey, but don't know where to start, I have found this blog helpful. But. This. Is. Amazing.
NFL Combine Is Next Week
Banks of the Red Cedar has some ratings on the players appearing in the draft. Mike Mayock predicts Kirk Cousins as a fourth rounder and career backup. *Sarcastic Thumbs Up*

MSU has started an All-America campaign for Draymond Green and Torey Krug. MSU Baseball starts it's Spring Campaign on Friday. A UM victory over OSU really improves MSU's shot at the title, check out UM Hoops Preview of the game.

I was with you until the last sentence, why in the world would I pull for UM to beat OSU?

I always think of games like these as "can't lose" scenarios. Either our rival loses or we get a better shot at the title. This is one of the few arenas I naturally see the glass as half full. I linked it more as a point of interest than "rooting for UM" and I just recently found that blog and think it's well-written.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I don't agree with Dantonio on this particular point. I am always for the thing that is going to put us in a better position to win the Big Ten in any sport. Always.
If UM loses they are 2 games back and have little to no hope to tie for the title. If they win a loss by MSU to OSU ends in a 3 way tie for the title.
ReplyDeleteMSU has the more difficult road so even a loss before the OSU game gives us a chance at the title so long as UM loses again. The "can't" lose part is that MSU is better served by playing an OSU team that has as good of record as possible, a loss to UM hurts OSU's ranking going in to the MSU finale.
Be it football, basketball, hockey, baseball, band challenges, women's sports, debate teams, or whatever, I always enjoy to see UM lose.
of course I'm probably just singing to the choir...
